for Authentic Matcha
Kai Nakamura founded Satori Matcha in 2016 after spending three years living in Kyoto, studying traditional Japanese tea culture firsthand. What started as a personal obsession with finding the perfect bowl of ceremonial matcha became a mission to bring that same quality to San Francisco.
With deep relationships built directly with Uji farmers, Kai sources only the finest first-harvest leaves, stone-ground to a brilliant green powder. The name "Satori" — meaning enlightenment in Japanese — reflects the transformative experience of truly exceptional matcha.
Today, Satori Matcha supplies discerning home brewers and top San Francisco cafes alike, with a steadfast commitment to quality, transparency, and community.
